Strategising, adapting and influencing:
Is your brain up to the task?

We all know that the world of work is more volatile, more uncertain and more complex than ever, yet most of our training has prepared us for a different mission.

Traditional education focuses on Crystallised Intelligence. In other words, the left brain thinking that provides the technical knowledge and skills on which we have built our careers. But today’s business challenges are more demanding on the right brain, the domain of Fluid Intelligence that allows individuals to be more strategic, adaptable and agile.

This is particularly important in the complex, matrixed world of multinationals where finding a way to influence diverse and disparate teams is key to the success of the finance team at a multinational organization.

Phillip Campbell is a cognitive scientist by trade and works with leaders in some of the world’s most successful companies including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, GE and MasterCard. He teaches his clients to adapt quickly and seamlessly to difficult and fluid situations, and bridge the gap between strategy and execution.

In this interactive session, Phillip will unpack the complex workings of the brain - our most important work tool - and provide some insight into how a better functioning right brain can help the finance team become a more effective strategic partner to the commercial business and operate and communicate more effectively with global stakeholders.
